2020
November 13, 2007 · Posted in Random
Shane Richmond is on holiday for the next couple of weeks and, as he explains on his blog, is opening it up to a number of guest bloggers who will each blog once.
He’s asked me to be one of those who contribute their view of what the web will look like in 2020. Sometimes I feel that I have no idea what it will look like next week, so I’m not sure what I will actually talk about yet.
Suggestions are welcome required.

Did you see the 2020 issue of Nature on the future of computing… http://research.microsoft.com/towards2020science/background_overview.htm
Might provide some interesting inspiration. The one by Jim Gray was particularly interesting:

Jim gray wrote a great paper on the economic trends in computing and showing the price of processing, bandwidth and storage, and it had some really interesting conclusions.
Wow, if I come anywhere near being as insightful as Jim Gray, I’ll be doing very well. No chance of that.
